Hello, Friends! In 2016, I started to blog about books I was reading and attached them to my teaching portfolio as a sample for the various books that I was reading. It was something fun I would do to share my love of reading in a professional manner, and I also included other reflections into that space. However, as life does, it got in the way, and I stopped putting my time and energy into it. Now, I am at a different space of my life, and I want to start sharing my love of reading again, but this time in a new way that is separate from my teaching. Obviously, these two will overlap, but my intention is to also include the books I read that are not young adult titles. I love a wide variety of books, so I don't want to exclude anything that I am reading. In addition to my love of reading, I also have a deep passion for travel. When I go on trips, I write excerpts to my friends and family to let them know how I spent my time. I have been holding onto them and sharing them with people as conversations about places come up, but I want to give them a space to live and thrive. Stephanie Rambles is a platform where I get to talk about "Stephanie Things" as one of my friends has called it. I decided upon the title being rambles, since rambling describes what I want to do with sharing this blog.
I love rambling when it comes to exploring new places. I love rambling when it comes to sharing my thoughts and ideas. I am not a plant person, but I think that we can learn a little bit from the ramblings of plants by continuously choosing to grow over any obstacle in our way and ignoring the growing patterns of those around us by figuring out what works best for ourselves. (I do want to specify that I don't believe in trampling others to help ourselves. I am one who believes in lifting while you climb.) When you are rooted in yourself and you know who you are, you do not rely on people and places to give you your identity. I am really excited to share bits of who I am with you through this new project, and I hope that you enjoy!
